AXG Contracting is seeking an accomplished Senior Electrical Engineer for one of the largest Engineering/Architecture companies in the US and a prominent contributor to US market for electrical designs.

Job Summary:

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for our substation project. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, overseeing the engineering process, and ensuring the successful completion of the project. Your expertise in substation design and electrical engineering principles will be crucial in delivering high-quality solutions that meet our clients' requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of proposals and scope development, including conceptual designs and execution plans
  • Prepare engineering cost and man-hour estimates and schedules
  • Physical substation design including yard layouts, plans, sections and details, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, and associated bills of material
  • Protection and control design including panel arrangements, one lines/single lines, three lines, AC schematics, DC elementaries, equipment wiring and relay panel wiring
  • Prepare calculations and reports for engineering studies (grounding, lightning protection, AC/DC load studies, etc.)
  • Prepare equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing
  • Coordinate design activities with other departments (Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission Line, etc.)
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members
  • Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel
  • Perform quality reviews for other engineers and designers
  • Provide short term field support during construction
  • Support business development and marketing initiatives
  • Other areas of involvement may include: relay settings, 3D/intelligent design, or industry/professional technical committee involvement
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited program
  • Minimum 5 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience)
  • Proficiency with National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE / ANSI Standards Strong preference for those with:
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Capability of solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard approaches, techniques, procedures, and criteria
